When it comes to the world wide web, design and maintenance was once a costly and time consuming activity.

However, thanks to the popularity of such online services as Wix and Squarespace, it’s now easier than ever for artists and small businesses to easily and quickly produce their very own template-based websites.

Now throwing its hat into the ring is Adobe, which recently launched its own tool for website design, called Portfolio. It enables users to produce their own websites from within the Creative Cloud Suite. Portfolio is focused heavily on design and allows anyone with a need to create content to show off their work. Users are provided with their own URL, Typekit fonts, tracking and analytics. They are also given password protection in order to maintain privacy of projects still in the launch phase.

Those using Behance, Portfolio’s sharing tool, will see their portfolio pages synced to the service. For users wishing to make a quick impression, there are pre-made templates available. More advances users with web design knowledge will be able to build their very own website from the ground up.

Adobe’s reputation may encourage users who have previously given some thought to designing their own website the confidence to do so.
